Too old for angst???
Jan. 9th, 2009 08:21 amThanks to my amazing flatmate, I now own the new FOB and Killers album. But after a few spins, my excitement waned.
What happened? I had to ask my cd player. Why, oh why is music becoming boring again? The Killers were tame - where is the spit and fire from Hot Fuss? As for FOB - please, please stay well away from Cobra Starship territory. They lyrics are still good, but after a while, all the tracks sound the same!!!
And my rant is not just directed at those two bands. The whole "scene" whether its indie/punk/rock/hip hop etc etc is going for thier third year in musical doldrums. Its been so long since I got excited about an album and have it exceed my expectations. Come on talented people out there - SURPRISE ME!
Ok, enough bitching to the musos. In my defense, I love music and I especially love musicians (I have a whole harem of muso friends whose music rocks!)
Onto other mundane things in my life -
After four months, my stuff finally arrived froom London. My little sister decided to help me unpack (read: dig through everything and take what she likes). My flat looks like a bomb hit it. So cue my weekend spent washing clothes, putting up shelves, packing shit away and sorting out the madness I currently stub my toes on.
In all honestly, I'd rather just burn it all...
