Friday is totally my day

I'm so happy its Friday.

this week has been pretty interesting. My dad has moved back in with us (not to reconcile with my mom, but because he's got a new job in Jo'burg and travelling 400km a day to work and back is a bit ridiculous - my dad lives in Rustenburg)

Anyway, I've also been working on my BBB fic and with creepylicious  wielding a whip and nagging me constantly, i plan to finish it today. that is, if i can get my tax sorted out. 
yep, its tax season and i'm due a nice refund, which will get my cell phone reconnected (oh please, i miss Twitter). but since last year, I've changed my bank account and now, despite sending in all the right documents, i have to spend my Friday morning convincing them it's my account. 
I hate government agencies!!!

Also, on my list of shit-that-must-start-working-right is my adsl line. We have ONE telecommunications company and like FIVE cellphone service providers, but everyone relies on  this ONE company's infrastructure. this is what happens when you have the government run shit for fifty years and then suddenly its privatised and no competitors can come in. ack! 
There is a point... my house is at the end of my suburb and is 7km from the telephone exchange. I was told that due to this, I cannot get a 4MB ADSL line (broadband? whats that?) I can, however, get a 384kbps line.

They are waiting to build an exchange closer to my end of the suburb, but only once the council changes the listing from farmland to urban development. which could never happen (my neighbour has chickens)

I can live with 384kbps (barely) but it would help if the damn line would synch with my router, which is stubbornly doesn't. 

 

Now, the point of this whole rant is because the new season of Leverage, Top Gear, True Blood and TORCHWOOD has started and I can't download a single episode to watch.
