I'm Okay...mostly

You know, being a recovering alcohol, nicotine and ephedrine addict has its days.

Like today. It’s Friday afternoon. I’ve had a very long, hard week. I’m exhausted and all I want to do is cuddle on the couch and watch tv or read. Unfortunately my cat is the worst cuddler in the world. I also want to have a glass of wine.

Instead, I’m going to make a pot of rooibos tea.

I’ll be snappy and annoyed and not very good company, but at least I’ll be sober…

I also lost my voice last night. This is important as I’m in the middle of rehearsing for a panto that we’re doing in June. From being a classically trained singer to not being able to hold a note is a shock worse than the moment you dive into a pool only to find the water is arctic.

I think I just need a big hug from the universe. Tomorrow I’ll be ok. I’m going to meet up with my band to hand over the photos from the photoshoot we did and I’ll laugh and be witty and charming and not light a cigarette or pour a beer for myself.
