So this past week, I got my prompts in order and began writing then i hit a wall, deleted everything and tried to begin again.
Then I decided to watch some movies instead. Seeking a Friend For The End Of The World and Friends With Kids.
Now both of these movies really stirred something up in my mind. The first one reminded me of my man. We also had such a short time together and i still feel that it was cosmically unfair - which is how I'm sure the characters feel too.
Then in the second one, two things hit me - I'm super jealous of people who have been best friends for nearly 20 years and have such a close relationship. also, i may be trying to stomp down on my biological clock...
We have something here in Tete that i've dubbed the Smurfette Syndrome - you're the only girl in the village and when you meet a guy and he shows some interest, you're never sure if its because he really likes you, or if it's because you're the only girl he's seen in weeks. I think I need to start teachign teh guys here to use the Jo'burg Goggles. It works like this: you seen a "hot" girl at the bar. you think - oh man, she's awesome, we should shag. Now, put on the Jo'burg Goggles and see her in a setting in Jo'burg, surrounded by OTHER girls and then decide.
Either way, I'm not going home with you.
