Siagnora 20s
Sep. 1st, 2014 04:11 pmIn less than a month I will be in Thailand.
But before that, I have my 30th Birthday party.
And it seems my younger sister is more excited about it than I am. She was sitting next to me earlier trying to pick out ideas from Pinterest. We got some good, dirt cheap ones. And for a change, we were actually getting along. That is until she brought up the idea of the cake/ cup cakes / cake pops etc.
I know how expensive cakes are, and I don't have a working oven to bake one so I tried to steer her away from the whole idea.
It failed and we ended up having a bit of a tiff. She accused me of being negative and grumpy and I told her that I don't have money for anything extravagant and NO, I AM NOT HAVING A CHANEL THEME! I told her to remember this is MY party and not some cliched, girly event that would evidently be hers.
She is now in her room.
I have absolutely no enthusiasm for next Saturday and yet it seems to be very important to EVERYONE ELSE. I mean, my dad calls me in a panic this morning - who will be supervising the spit braai? (meat on sticks rotating in front of gas burners). I shrugged and said, isn't it the point of a spit braai is that it doesn't need supervision, like a microwave? He lost the plot and began ranting about rotten meat and stuff. So now I'm looking for someone to man the meat.
In other news, my case worker resigned whilst I was in Barcelona and never informed me of my arbitration date. The replacement case worker treated me like it was my fault I didn't show up. I said a few things i'm not proud of, but at least it got the point across that they were at fault. So now I filled in 10000 forms to get a new date before I leave the country.
Someone - wake me up when September ends...
